Celebrating TABO 10th Anniversary, UCI Begins Extending Electricity Network in Farkha and Broqeen in Cooperation with Salfit Municipality

August 22, 2021

Salfit: Union Construction and Investment started extending high and low voltage electricity networks for its TABO project in Farkha and Broqeen in the Salfit Governorate. This comes in cooperation with the Salfit Municipality as part of UCI’s strategy to build and develop the infrastructure within its flagship project "TABO".

UCI signed a cooperation agreement with Salfit Municipality earlier in May of this year, as the latter is the holder of the concession rights to transmit and distribute electricity in the Salfit Governorate. Under this agreement, electricity will be connected to TABO master plans in the areas of Farkha and Broqeen within a period of eight months, in addition to street lighting.

In this regard, Mr. Khaled Al Sabawi, CEO and Vice Chairman of UCI, said: “The start of establishing the electricity infrastructure for TABO project in the areas of Farkha and Bruqeen coincides with the 10th anniversary of launching TABO, during which we implemented a bundle of developmental projects in TABO masterplans in Ramallah and Salfit governorates. We appreciate this cooperation with the Salfit Municipality, which is in line with our company’s strategy to provide an advanced infrastructure that serves the lands of our current and future customers, with the aim of creating an enhanced environment for establishing new residential communities and for confirming the rights of Palestinian to their native lands. We stress the importance of cooperation between the private and public sectors for the benefit of our Palestinian people, their interests, and in promoting sustainable economic growth in Palestine”.

Mr. Abdelkarim Al-Zubaidi, Mayor of Salfit, said: "TABO is a resistance project in light of the settlement attack on Salfit Governorate, and it is our pleasure in Salfit Municipality to provide all possible facilities to support it. It is also a strategic project on the national, economic and investment levels. There are vast areas of lands in the West Bank that are neglected and untapped, which exposes them to the threat of loss. Through the efforts of TABO project in organizing these lands, obtaining title deeds for them and providing them with infrastructure, TABO contributes to protecting and developing of these lands, preparing them for population expansion, establishment of new cities and creating opportunity for young people to find a suitable area to build and invest with ease.”

UCI launched a special discount campaign, starting last July, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of launching “TABO” project, and celebrated the project’s track record, which included protecting more than 1,000,000 square meters of Palestinian lands from confiscation and settlement expansion, through the registration and issuance of title deeds for more than 800 plots of land in Palestine, and transferring land ownership to more than 540 Palestinian families in their homeland at reasonable prices and easy and direct installments with the company. In addition to constructing and paving more than 27,000 meters of internal roads, linking them to the main road networks, and extending electricity networks.
